Film historian Doug Deuchler will introduce and screen "Tarzan and His Mate" on Nov. 10. Frank Lipo, Executive Director of the Historical Society of Oak Park & River Forest, will share the history of Edgar Rice Burroughs in Oak Park. In the film, Tarzan and Jane, run into a team of poachers who plan to raid an elephant burial ground for the ivory.
Library: Oak Park Public Library Main BranchOn Saturday, Nov. 17, Burroughs' expert, Scott Tracy Griffin, will share stories from the official Centennial book, "Tarzan." Griffin has 30 years of articles appearing in magazines, journals, academia and fanzines. Griffin lives within swinging distance of Tarzana, California.
