Library: Oak Park Public Library Main BranchThe evening will begin with an overview of the past year by the president of the Friends, as well as the opportunity to mingle and talk with Friends of the Library officers, board members and other library supporters. At 7:30 pm, Chicago folk music singer/songwriter, Michael Smith, will perform. Known for his song, "The Dutchman," Michael Smith came to Chicago where music lovers quickly discovered Smith's talent and long repertoire of songs. Michael became a regular at popular folk music venues in the 1970s and continues to play concert halls, house concerts, clubs and festivals. His prolific songwriting has never waned, with now close to 500 original tunes in his impressive catalog. Admission to the concert is free for Friends’ members; a reduced Friends membership fee of $5 which includes admission to the concert is available at the door.
