Author Robyne Halevy: Enough! Education Prosperity for All Learners

Event Type: Adult Program
Date: 9/19/2013
Start Time: 7:00 PM
End Time: 9:00 PM
Description:
Meet Oak Park media specialist Robyne Halevy when she discusses her new book, Enough! Education Prosperity for All Learners. Enough! explores schools, education, and life, written from the heart and experiences of an observant and seasoned educator. Halevy is a former Oak Park school library media specialist, educator, and writer for the Wednesday Journal.

Halevy writes: "We are in an age of massive stimulation which translates into an obsession for living futuristically, collecting mounds of numerical data, and relegating qualities of humanity as less important. This focus on data creates walls that impede relationships, causes anxiety among educators and learners, and fosters a reductionistic learning environment,a poverty of learning."
