Palm-of-the-Hand Memoir Writing Workshop

Event Type: Adult Program
Date: 9/5/2013
Start Time: 7:00 PM
End Time: 9:00 PM
Description:
Do you have a desire to write about your life? New york poet, publisher and oral memoirist Michael Czarnecki presents his “Palm-of-the-Hand” Memoir Writing Workshop to leading budding memoir writers through the process.

Participants will be introduced to a method called "Palm-of-the-Hand" modeled after the "Palm-of-the-Hand" stories of Japanese writer Yasunari Kawabata. The method helps focus a writer's energy into completing short individual pieces. This technique has been successful in helping people write extensively about their life experiences - whether for family members or to be published in a book.

Michael Czarnecki is the founder of FootHills Publishing, a small press that has released over 400 chapbooks and books of poetry. He has presented hundreds of readings and workshops throughout the country. More information can be found at: www.foothillspublishing.com/poetguy
