Sarah Koten, an accomplished artist who lived in Oak Park for 10 years, will exhibit recent paintings in a show titled “Color and Light” at the Oak Park Public Library Sept. 2 through 29. A reception for Sarah Kotan will be Sunday, Sept. 8, from 3 to 5 p.m. The reception is free and open to the public. The exhibit is open seven days a week during regular Library hours.Library: Oak Park Public Library Main Branch
Koten majored in Art History at Northwestern University and then earned a degree in textile design from The Fashion Institute of Technology. Koten worked as a textile designer in New York City for 12 years after earning a post-graduate degree in painting from The Art Institute of Chicago and studying at the Fashion Institute of Technology.
Koten has exhibited her work at Northwestern University, the Betty Rhymer Gallery of The Art Institute of Chicago and the Thomas Moser Gallery in Chicago.
