Celebrating Seniors: Download Free Music and Indie Films

Event Type: Adult Program
Date: 5/23/2014
Start Time: 11:00 AM
End Time: 12:30 PM
Did you know that you can download free music and independent films onto your computer, Ipad or any Smart Phone to enjoy at your leisure? All you need is your Oak Park Public Library card and pin number.

At this free session on May 23,learn how to utilize these free services from Gretchen Rings of Oak Park Public Library's Digital Services Department.

Through Freegal (sounds like “legal”) which is now available on the Oak Park Public Library’s website, you can stream and download music and music videos.

Freegal works on computers or mobile devices with Freegal’s app ( iTunes or Google Play for Android). Freegal's growing catalog includes millions of songs and thousands of music videos, with new artists added weekly. Download five songs a week, or use two downloads for a music video.

Through the library, you can also access an online streaming movie service called IndieFlix. The films are all independent and include foreign films as well as film festival favorites from Sundance, Cannes, Tribeca, and others. Another great feature? Viewing films on IndieFlix directly supports the filmmakers who made them.
