Start Time: 12:00 PM
End Time: 1:00 PM
It’s Christmas of 1843 and writer Charles Dickens is deeply in debt and without hope of creating a story to improve his circumstances. Life during this period was full of uncertainty with the arrival of the industrial revolution. Unknowing Dickens wrote a book of hope, spirituality, and charity as a gift to lighten life at its darkest. Author Les Standiford researched the life and the reality of The Man Who Invented Christmas: How Charles Dickens's A Christmas Carol Rescued His Career and Revived Our Holiday Spirits. “God bless us, everyone!” All are welcome to attend. Books are available at the Dole Branch Library one month before the discussion.
